Oh my, can I just start by saying BEAUTIFUL!! Beautiful weather, beautiful location and ofcourse and amazingly beautiful family :) Stephanie has become one of my favorite friends these days and I had the most fun getting to spend the evening with her and her super fun hubby and kids! I had the wonderful opportunity to take some pictures of a family from my ward at our church. Not only that, but their kids have becomes my kids' BFF's :) They live right around the corner from us, so most days out of the week, they are either at our house or my kids are at their house. What a blessing in a new neighborhood to have made such amazing friends! We just love them and I'm so excited to have captured some fun moments of all them together! I had the wonderful opportunity to photography Meagan just the very night before she was being induced with her 3rd baby :) 2 amazingly gorgeous boys at home and this time she welcomed her first baby girl. Meagan was so comfortable in front of the camera, and tons of fun to hang out with! Last I heard her baby was doing great.. a 8lbs and 15 ounces great! Congratulations Meagan and thank you again!!

I know, I know.. it's been FOREVER since I blogged last.. But I do have (somewhat) a good excuse. My family has always always lived in Arizona, and then in August of '09
we moved to Springfield, Missouri.. and lucky for us, this winter has been the coldest winter they've had in 12 years! More snow, more FREEZING days, more rain... MORE AWFULNESS! So the point of all this is, in November I came down with a horrible cold. .. seriously horrible. I was in bed for almost 2 solid weeks before I ever went to the E.R., then one particular bad night I decided I couldn't take it anymore.. and we went. Only to be admitted and kept in the hospital for 3 days and treated for pnemonia. After I came home, I spent another 2 weeks in bed, thank goodness my wonderful mother was able to fly out and save the day.. but after all that.. it's taken me months to get into the swing of things. This weekend, I was lucky enough to be invited by the coolest Jared Hoffpauir of J. Design Studios to join a "group shoot"! It was so great to get out again, shoot again, and have new friends again! :) All the models were incredibly gorgeous and all of the photogs were tons of fun to hang out with. I can't wait to do it again! Here's a sneak peak of one moment I caught of our fun-filled afternoon!

Soccer days have started!!!

So we finally get to watch BOTH our awesome little athletes play soccer this season. James is on the pre-K team and Calli is playing on the 2-3rd grade team. Here is just an intro into our Saturday mornings, I'll have to get some pictures Calli up this next week.. I didn't take as many this weekend, when we got to the field it was 32 degrees outside and there was ice on the grass!! I spent most of the morning bundled up instead of clicking away like usual :)

I finally convinced April to go with me to take some pictures today, I was so excited :) We got her out some cute clothes, a super cute hat, the famous chair she's been waiting to use.. and as we headed out the door she ran back for MARY PIG!! This is the new favorite toy of the month, that goes every where she goes. It turned out to be lots of fun and April was totally into it today! Smiling, posing and doing all the goofy things I asked her to.. :)and ofcourse, threw in her own sillyness!

I wanted to take Calli out last Friday and take some new pictures of her and try some new spots. I haven't had the opportunity to take very many lately (like I do of James and April) because she spends a lot of her day at school and then doing homework and soccer! Well, when I mentioned this to Calli she got so excited because her and her friends had already talked about doing a "modeling" session together! I couldn't resist, she seemed so excited, so we picked up the girls and headed out for some new locations!! This is what we came up with, and I've very happy with the results :) Thanks girls for coming along and being my beautiful models !!

Surprisingly enough April let me put a new dress on her and curl her hair and take a couple pictures of her today.. it didn't last long and it was honestly not the most fun pictures I've taken, but she is just so dang cute I just keep trying!! We went "vintage store" shopping the other day and came home with this adorable little dress, I have big plans for it, today was just practice!! Real "vintage" shoot to come soon! Can't wait <3<3 !!

I am completely the worst blogger EVER! I haven't even taken the time to tell about us moving away to Missouri, Josh starting a new job and everything that's happened in between! Yes yes that's right, we've moved. All the way across the world (it seems like) to Springfield, Missouri. Josh was offered a position at Bryan College we just could'nt turn down. It's what he's worked 6 years in Online Education for. So we're here, trying to get settled and used to a completely way of life.. but a wonderful one! We absolutely love it here, and so do the kids :) It's been tons of fun and we've made some really great friends. I hope to start up my business again here soon, it just hasn't been my priority yet. So here's some pictures of just my kids enjoying themselves and what we've come to call home !! And I promise to keep up with my blogging from now on...

And the look on my brother in laws face just makes me giggle, he's so excited and such a wonderful dad. He'll be blessed with a baby BOY this time, how could he not be?!

This picture is actually taken right in front of the Washington Memorial, you have no idea how hard it is to take family pictures down there without 200 other strangers in your backround! I think that's why I focused in on just them two for this one! :)

They aren't fighting, they aren't trying to run away, they are just standing together, even smiling! wow. miracle day today! More from the family session I had on Wednesday night. Lots and lots of pictures to go through! We shoot for over 2 hours making sure to get every combination possible! It was definitely a productive night.

I had a session last night with a whole family! We had Grandma, Grandpa, and another Grandpa! Plus 3 brothers, 2 wives, 1 girlfriend, and 4 grandkids! ...whoo! I have to admit one of my most favorite parts of becoming a photographer has been making new friends, fellow photographer friends.. and one of my favorites is Kara of Kara Layne Photography. I had the opportunity to second shoot another wedding with her this past weekend and I had a blast!! She is so fun and such an rad photographer, I love every minute I get to learn from her awesomeness and creativity :) So here are a couple shots I captured from our day together of this super cute couple :) Thanks Erica and Marcus for letting me be a part of your magical day!

I had a super fun shoot with a super cute girl yesterday :) Alexa came out to model for a couple hours and the weather was fantastic. So this little guy was the lucky winner of the "free session giveaway" on Friday night! And I was so glad! I have met his family before when I did their WHOLE family about 2 months ago.. Grandma and Aunts and Uncles and everyone! So just this little guy by himself was so funny, he really didn't want to have anything to do with me.. if I even talked to him he just turned and ran the other way :) But his amazing smile and rosey cheeks definitely gave for some adorable shots!

Today I got to enjoy the wind.. and I mean REALLY enjoy the wind!! I had totally forgot how fun kites really were, until my gorgeous little man reminded me of how fun they can be.. we spend some time at the park with his $ .99 Transformers kite and it was worth every penny! haha! But really, just to see him having so much fun melts my heart. I never thought I could love a laugh as much as I do ...

James ran his little heart out to get that kite as high as it would possibly go!!

Today I had the awesome opportunity to second shoot this wedding with Erik Merkow of ErikMerkowPhotography. Everything was so gorgeous, it was at the Hyatt Regency at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, super fancy! Carey was such a fun bride who laughed and went about the day with no stress or nervousness, just total excitement. It was so fun to be around her and it reminded me of my own exciting day :)

Her little flower girl and ring bearer were absolutley adorable.

This was by far my most favorite shot of the entire day. Both of these two were so emotional and so grateful for eachother, I think I had to wipe away a tear of my own :)

I had such a great time the other night getting to meet up with an old friend from way way back!! It's been over 13 years since I have seen her, we went to girls camp together!! When she found me on Facebook I was sooo excited, only to be dissapointed to see she had just recently moved to California. I guess it's a good thing all her family is here, she came back to visit and we had the opportunity to meet up to hang out and do a 4 year old birthday session with her gorgeous son Easton. He was tooo cute! :) I just love this little guys personality!

Dad wasn't able to come visit this time so I thought I'd take a minute and see how much this little guy missed his daddy! This is him telling me all about what daddy was doing at home...

I can't even begin to tell you how much fun I had with this awesome family of 11!! I knew Jamaica from high school and she contacted me about doing a big family portrait while they had family here from out of town. I'll be honest, I was a bit nervous about doing a session with so many people, but it actually turned out so fabulous :) All the kids were so fun and ofcourse Grandma made things a little easier too. We tried some new fun things and I think in the end, everyone was happy with how they turned out :)

So maybe I'm a little more excited about the cowboy hat than he was... but I finally got him to let me take a picture! We found my old hat moving my mom and dad last week and I just couldn't even believe they still had it. I used to love this hat and wear it all over, (when I was like 6 or 7 years old) so you can imagine how excited I was that James wanted to wear it!! ...just not have his picture taken in it! A few months ago joined a group of photographer girls who meet once a month and plan super cool activities and this was our latest! The theme of the evening was "Vintage" We had the awesome opportunity to go to this huge farm with tons of cool props, backrounds, trees and animals! Not to mention the models that joined us!! Holy cow I really had no idea how much fun shooting a wedding really would be! And having these two as my bride and groom made it so much better :) They were so cute and so in-love, what could make a better session! This family is just so cute! This very cute little guy was on my sons t-ball team so I got to hang out with mom a ton during the season. I was so excited when she asked me to do her family pictures because I already knew how fun they were :) We managed to get some awesome pictures even though we ran out of time due to some work issues dad had to take care of before we got started!... but hopefully we'll start getting together more often and I'm sure I'll get plenty of time to take more pictures of the kids :) for fun!

I definitely got more frowns than smiles from this little one, but you can see just how gorgeous those little eyes are. What a cutie :)

So meet Megan and Hunter. Megan is so cute, she decided to have pictures taken of her and her brother for their mom for her Christmas present :0) Isn't that sweet! I've actually known Megan for years, probably about 15 years... her and my little sister did gymnastics together in middle school and then she found me on facebook! How great is that! This was so fun, we met on Mill and walked all over trying to find cool spots. Their mom and dad live in downtown Tempe so they wanted to do pictures in their part of town, I think we found some really cool places! Hopefully Mom likes 'em :) Thanks again Megan, I had a great time and it was awesome getting to see you again!

I spent Thursday afternoon with the cutest family at the Mesa Arts Center. They were so fun all running around wild chasing each other, laughing, and just being kids :0) I love family sessions! (do I say that after every post??!!) I see this family every Sunday at church but have never really gotten to know most of them, so it was great to get to spend some time with everybody together. There are so many different poses and places, I just couldn't decide which ones to post, so I will probably have to add a few more in the next couple day!! Thanks you guys, it was awesome getting to share this fun with you :)

Yep, this is the so cute family that I talked about earlier! How fun were they?! I love family sessions and I especially love family sessions at the temple. There is such an incredible feeling being on the temple grounds and having the opportunity to enjoy it with a family, (my family) makes it so wonderful!

Ivan was such a great little model, I think he loved having his picture taken! And so adorable, I love that smile!
How great is this! Brotherly love :) Awesome!

DISASTER...

....Complete disaster.. and that's putting it mildly... This is what happens when my family tries to get together for family pictures. Yes, I'll admit it, we picked a horrible spot but when you're in Maricopa ... there's not to many "family friendly in a hurry to do pictures" places. So the sun was blasting everyone away, two babies were too tired to even be out there, one had too many toys to distract him, the oldest wouldn't cooperate, Grannie just tried to keep it together as long as she could, my parents.. what can you say, they didn't really help either... So this is the kind of pictures we got. I just look and shake my head and laugh.. and sometimes curse! But it'll do, I guess we'll have to remember family pictures just like this!!!

This one has to be my very most favorite :) Just the gorgeous smiles that are so natural and playful. I just couldn't decide between the color and black and white... so you can decide!!

And these were just for fun.. we had to settle for some construction tunnels in the end because the grass was just saturated from all the rain. But it was fun and spontaneous! and kinda goofy! But that's why I love photography!

... tears of JOY and sadness all at the same time. As I sit here going through my pictures of one of my most favorite families in the whole world all I can do is cry and laugh and hope that we will have the opportunity soon to see each other and spend time together like that time we had this week. I spent the last few days at a family reunion and had the absolute pleasure of taking pictures of my cousin and her husband and gorgeous babies :) It was awesome, what a super awesome family :) A photographers dream!! So happy to be together and ofcourse some of the cutest little girls in town... well not my town anymore, but .. soon. hopefully ;) I will miss you guys more than you could know, thank you so much for letting me capture these wonderful memories for your family ... I love all of you :)

My sister is like my most bestest friend in the whole world, I just had such a great time following her and her husband around all afternoon!! We laughed so hard and embarrased him so many times! She does the funniest things, I have so many awesome pictures... I just can't decide!!!

I has the awesome chance to take my sister and brother in law and their so so so cute little guy to do family pictures yesterday... a friend photographer told me about this new spot that we got to try out and it was tons of fun. Lots of trees and plenty of grass, a great place just hang out and run wild! He had the greatest time playing football... until he threw the ball right over the fence (on purpose too!)
Yep.. there's the ball, right on the other side! Poor kid. We had to leave it there, that fence was a little too rickedy to be climbing over..
But I have tons more pictures, I am only about half way through editing them, so more to come soon :)

I just can't get enough of taking pictures of Calli! I get tons of practice and she gets to model.. which she absolutely loves :) We gave her this little beanie for her birthday, and she went crazy for it! So we decided to take a couple pictures and surprise surprise.. it started to sprinkle about 10 minutes after we got out to the middle of the dessert! But just like always it was done in about 2 minutes... so we took a couple more and came home. What a cutie :)

I had a great session tonight with a super fun family down at Tempe Town Lake. It's been awhile since I've seen a couple that just enjoyed being together as much as these two did. Jury Duty

Yes this is my day of Jury Duty, I ended up using my lunch break to walk around dowtown Phoenix and take pictures! I never got called into a court room so I was out by 2:30 and left to wait for Josh until 5. (he was choosen!) Anway, it was awesome! I never get to go downtown, so it was fun seeing what was a whole different side of peoples daily lives, than what I'm used to anyway. The traffic, the office buildings, and hot dog stand lunch breaks, the stinky buses ... and even trees and water fountains right in the middle of the mix. So despite not having the opportunity to fullful my patriotic duty, I had a great time just getting away from the usual and photographing something new :o) Which is always such a fun experience!

So I had the greatest time with my cousin Cal and his wife Amanda out in Laveen on Saturday. We hoped to find a really cool new spot but.. no dice, we settled for the front yard of my Uncle's house! Which actually turned out great. :) All I needed were these two beautiful faces and all their fun and teasing eachother. Too bad we didn't have more time, I would have loved to have gotten more, but .. once again.. we settled for what we could take :)

This one is definitely my favorite, it just shows how goofy and fun they both are!! They were so cute together :)

We drove up to Payson on Friday to get away for a little while and let the kids play. We stopped at the fish hatchery and the kids just couldn't get enough of all the fish, even swimming in the stream down the hill.

So we finally got James signed up to play t-ball. All the little guys are just so cute running all around chasing the ball no matter where it goes and falling all over it. We spend as much time laughing as we do cheering. The first game still isn't for a couple weeks, so tons more pictures to come throughout the season :)

I LOVE LOVE those freckles and eyelashes. She's so gorgeous and so cute and I only wish I more time with her. See what happenes when one Auntie's making funny faces with one camera and one Auntie stands off to the side taking pictures with a second camera! We had so much fun this weekend getting all the cousins together to play and hang out and ofcourse... take tons of pictures! All of these gorgeous kids were so fun and they just played and played and laughed, which always makes for a perfect picture :)

Calli's beautiful eyes are the first thing I notice every time I look at this picture... they seem to just stare right though whatever it is that she is looking at. She is just fresh out of the pool and I think a bit tired. But still the same, so beautiful :)
